This year’s ELEXSYON was conducted via Google Forms. The online polls were opened at  9:30 a.m. and closed at 11:30 p.m on the same day. With a turnout of 495 voters or 55.56% of the 891-student population of SBU-COL, the results met the ‘50% plus one’ requirement for a successful election in contrast to the 2021 ELEXSYON with only 542 voters or 51.18% of the student body.

In an interview with outgoing LSG President Justine Aara Albon, she believed that her team [outgoing LSG officers] had fulfilled their purpose by bridging together the students and the faculty.

Albon shared that they have led online and on-site events and maximized the use of social media to lobby for the students’ concerns. She was also optimistic with the newly-elected LSG officers as they will face novel experiences brought about by the ‘new normal’.

The outgoing LSG officers served the student body for three semesters, having taken their oaths to office in 2021.
