San Beda University College of Law (SBU-COL), in partnership with the College of Law Student Affairs Society (COL-SAS), hosted its 2025 Edition of Freshman Orientation Day last July 13, 2025.
The event, featuring a creative “Squid Game” motif based on the popular Korean TV Show, welcomed 491 new San Beda law students for the academic year of 2025-2026.
Rev. Fr. Anselm Manalastas opened the event with a eucharistic mass, inviting future Bedan lawyers to be the voice to the voiceless.
At the Jonathan Sy Hall, College of Law Dean Marciano G. Delson delivered the welcoming remarks, encouraging the students that law school should be a stepping stone not only to improve oneself intellectually but also to grow spiritually. He confidently assures the incoming freshmen, saying, “If you survive San Beda College of Law, passing the bar is a period,” emphasizing that with the guidance of San Beda, becoming a lawyer is a future certain event.
In the afternoon, Vice Dean Francesca Lourdes M. Señga, a class valedictorian, gave her own tips and tricks on how to survive in law school despite difficult schedules. Later on, Prefect of Student Affairs Atty. Adonis V. Gabriel introduced the important provisions to be noted by Bedan students from the law school handbook.
Likewise, each recognized law student organization was given the stage to present their club activities and encourage the new students to join their organizations. To wrap up the ceremonies, an Oath Taking was headed by the College of Law’s esteemed administrator, Atty. Lyan David M. Juanico. Through this oath, the College finally welcomed the freshmen into the Bedan Community.
To end this year’s Freshmen Orientation Day on a high note, breakout sessions were conducted by upperclassmen as facilitators, where the new students were provided with the opportunity to get to know their fellow blockmates through fun activities that help build camaraderie and bonds.
