We know that the Animal Welfare Act exists to protect animals from cruelty and abuse. But did you also know that there is a 19-year old law that seeks to eliminate human and animal rabies in the Philippines?

Food has a way of sneaking into our memories and forcing a rush of nostalgia in our hearts, forming tears that hold beloved, bittersweet memories. For me, the food that holds the most nostalgia is KitKats. This makes sense—it was only the last gift you sent me before you left us.  Mama, I’m 26 now. By June, I’ll have lived half my life without you, yet I am still the same granddaughter that constantly looks for you in every room she finds herself in.

History is written by the victors.  However, the cause of the struggles and endeavors remains unclear. We try to build or to protect something. Black and white have been the primordial colors since time immemorial. It is the same color symbolized with light and darkness, vagueness and clarity, and emptiness and fulfillment. Now, let these colors be the symbol of a movement from query to certainty.  From there, may we learn from our roots and harvest the lessons we need in the journey.

It wouldn’t take a genius to figure out that the support for the impeached Vice President appears to be  a matter of survival and furtherance of self interest of some men and women who will be casting their vote to determine whether or not the person who is perceived to be the “President in waiting” is allowed to proceed with her journey despite the mountain of evidence against her…from the illegal usage of confidential funds to unexplained (by any stretch of the imagination) wealth. Particularly devastating is the evidence from the Anti Money Laundering Council showing cash flow in the Vice President’s bank accounts running into the billions.
