Over 600 incoming first-year law students participated in the inaugural Freshmen Orientation Week of the San Beda University-College of Law (SBU-COL), hosted by the Student Affairs Society (SAS), from July 13 to 16 at the Jonathan Sy Auditorium.
To open the four-day long activities, SBU-COL Dean Marciano Delson encouraged the freshmen to strive to become the best and finest law students in the years ahead. COL Administrator Atty. Lyan David Juanico then detailed SBU-COL’s academic policies, outlining the criteria for maintaining good academic standing.

In the following day, Prof. Michael Jimenez led an engaging discussion on mental health while Prefect for Student Affairs Atty. Adonis Gabriel outlined the college’s disciplinary rules, emphasizing SBU-COL’s strict adherence to its code of conduct.
Recognized SBU-COL organizations were also given the spotlight to introduce their advocacies and invite interested students.

On the final day of the orientation, keynote speaker Atty. Maria Eloisa Quijano-Manalo gave an inspirational message to the freshmen, recalling her struggles as a working student amidst her fight with thyroid cancer.
Distinguished faculty members of SBU-COL also attended the event as they were introduced alongside their respective areas of practice and expertise.

The four-day orientation concluded with interactive breakout sessions as facilitators assisted the first years in getting to know their blockmates.
While the orientation wrapped up this week, the application for College of Law remains open until July 24, 2026.
